Title: [Breaking] New Education Minister Currently Meeting With ASUP Leaders
Post by: Shola Sholaz on Jul 11, 2014, 11:40 PM
The new Minister for Education, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau who assumed office today has been charged with immediate effect to end the current crisis rocking the tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
.
He has swung into action immediately by convening a meeting at the headquarters of the ministry in Abuja with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP).
.
The meeting is currently ongoing and we are made to believe that a lasting solution will be derived from the meeting so that the polytechnic lecturers will suspend the ongoing strike action.
.
We keep our fingers crossed for the outcome of the meeting which we hope
will be positive.
