The National President of ASUP, Mr Chibuzor Asomugha, explained that the strike had only been suspended for three months, an interlude the government is expected to meet the demands of ASUP.

He added that the Union would resume strike after three months If the Federal Government fall to meet their demands. Chibuzor said that, the polytechnic lecturers would resume work on Tuesday.

Liveschoolnews.com.ng grapevine learnt that the ASUP leadership was compelled to suspend the strike following the pulling out of 7 Federal Polytechnics including the school of the ASUP President. Eight more polytechnics were scheduled to pull out next week.

The seven schools who pulled out had their lecturers declaring that since over 90 percent of demands had been met by the Federal Government, it was only right for the union to return to the negotiating table.
