The body of a premature baby was discovered in a dustbin this morning at the Nsukka Campus of the University of Nigeria, Enugu State.

Hostel cleaners at the Balewa Hostel (a female hostel in UNN) discovered the body of the dead baby in a dustbin in front of St. Peters Chapel UNN and raised alarm that attracted the students.

How the baby ended up in the dustbin could not be ascertained but it is believed that a female student gave birth and threw the baby there.

At the time of filling this report, the body of the dead baby has been removed by the Staff of the University of Nigeria Medical Center.
