The governing council of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt has appointed Professor Joseph Barineka Kinanee as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) with effect from 1st of August 2014.

He takes over from Professor Lawanson A. Briggs who had served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university for a period of four years and seven months.

Until his appointment, Professor Joseph Barineka Kinanee was the Director, School of Basic Studies at the St John's Campus of the University and a lecturer with the department of Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counselling.
