CNN is no doubt revising its map of Africa, as the network recently identified Niger as Nigeria:
Dear @CNN (https://twitter.com/CNN), the area you marked "Nigeria" is actually "Niger"; Nigeria is the area below it. Get a map-reader, please! pic.twitter.com/e03Fv1pcC2 (http://t.co/e03Fv1pcC2)

Multiple viewers unhappy about the error sounded off on Twitter:
Really @CNN (https://twitter.com/CNN) Niger isn't Nigeria! Review your geography before sharing such wrong information with the world! pic.twitter.com/A2Bt5OGzV3 (http://t.co/A2Bt5OGzV3)

As the Washington Post noted (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2014/08/06/cnn-adds-nigeria-to-list-of-countries-it-cant-find-on-a-map/), this isn't the first mistake like this for CNN. The network mixed up Ukraine and Pakistan earlier this year, and once placed Hong Kong in South America. Geography fails are sadly common for newscasts — MSNBC (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/14/msnbc-upstate-new-york-geography-wrong_n_3755872.html) and Fox News (http://mediamatters.org/blog/2011/12/13/foxs-graphics-department-fails-mislabeling-stat/185288) have fallen victim, too.
