Title: UNIBEN Shell Eco-Marathon: Call For Members

The Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM), started in the 1980s, is a competition where students are challenged to design, build and compete with energy efficient vehicles.

The winner will be the team that goes the furthest distance using the least amount of energy.
.
This is a global event that is currently held annually in Europe, the Americas and Asia. For the first time in the history of the Shell Eco-Marathon, black Africa participated in the 2014 Europe Shell Eco- Marathon held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands from 14 – 18 May 2014, represented by the Universities of Benin and Lagos.

The University of Benin designed and built the car named Tuketuke for the competition.

Some members of the Team will soon be graduating from the University, and they will need to be replaced by new ones.

Consequently, interested students with the following credentials are invited to apply as new members:
.
- Have a passion for innovative work supported with evidence of past projects executed
- Possession of one form of practical skill or the other, relevant to automobile design and construction
- Good academic standing
- 300 Level Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering students; and 300 Level and 400 Level Fine and Applied Arts students with bias for industrial design.
