The University of Ibadan (UI) has sworn-in the newly. elected members of the Students' Union Government for the 2013/2014 academic session.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony which was held at the Trenchard Hall of the institution, the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Akinola Alada, congratulated the new leaders and commended the outgoing leaders for a job well done.

The outgoing Students' Union President, Comrade Babatunde Badmus, gave the account of his stewardship while in office and commended all positive minded students for their support to the outgoing executives.

While advising the new executive members to be sober, vigilant, straight forward while in office and handle union property with care, he appealed to the students to support the new leaders.

The new President, Comrade Oluwafemi Odesola, in his speech highlighted the need for revitalising the true spirit of unionism among students.

Odesola said that his regime will improve internet facility, healthcare centre, library and welfare of students.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Adewole, commended attitude of students since after resuscitation of unionism on campus four years ago after ten years of proscription.
