Industrial Services Operator (Job Number: 140004N9)
Description
Reporting to the Services Team Leader, the successful incumbent will be in charge of the maintenance and operations of the utilities plant and equipment, which also consists of the route analysis to optimize plant operation whilst maintaining the correct starting, stopping, and cleaning of equipment in the department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform maintenance on equipment during break downs.
• Routine maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Carries out minor repairs to ensure smooth running of plant.
• Overhauling machines and components, forklift truck operation, assembling and fitting, grinding and drilling.
• Takes over shift in an efficient manner, ensure exchange of information with regards to the previous shift.
• Present daily readings in morning meetings
• Maintain a good working relationship with other departments and acquire information pertaining to all stoppages.
• Routine inspections of plant and co-ordination of cleaning and sludge removal.
• Operate boilers such that safety valves do not blow unnecessarily.
• Ensure that the SHE performance plan elements are updated on a regular basis
• Control emissions from boilers and air heaters. Ensure that stacks are always clear Key Requirements:
• HND or its equivalent
• Trade Tested as a Boiler Operator / Boiler Plant Operation Certificate
• Minimum 2 years or more experience in a similar role
• Computer literate ( Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP)
