The Senate on Tuesday suspended the screening of President Goodluck Jonathan's ministerial nominees, saying it would not continue with the exercise until the President had clarified the changes he made to the original list of 34 nominees.
The President sent the initial list to the upper legislative chamber about 10 days ago.
The decision to suspend the screening of the remaining 20 nominees, came shortly after the Senate had received two letters from Jonathan on the changes in his original list.
Leader of the Senate, Victor Ndoma-Egba, speaking to newsmen at the end of the sitting of Tuesday said, "Senators would want to get a clearer picture of the list of nominees sent by Mr. President. They want to be certain about what the President is sending, that is why they could not continue."
Nice... Working democracy in action! Was this possible in the past? No. Really sensitive reaction from the senate.
