Context/Scope:
• Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) Controllers are being appointed to effectively plan and manage the replenishment process of stocked materials for Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO).
• They are required to perform high focus on Lead-Time Management and Total Cost of Ownership concepts.
• They will be responsible for ensuring inventory is optimised at all times and that inventory turnovers are regularly monitored and appropriate actions taken.
Financial: Significant impact on the procurement system and inventory investment.
Market Complexity:
• The Nigerian beer market is very complex with many competitors and a strong quality, cost and delivery focus.
• There is a need to constantly optimise inventory investment, whilst ensuring an uninterrupted flow of materials to support plant availability and maintain the lowest total cost of ownership.
Leadership Responsibilities:
• Leads the MRO materials replenishment life cycle.
• The MRP Controller will work closely with Procurement to ensure effective replenishment of stock.
• The MRP Controller will liaise with the Maintenance Planners and respective Engineers in order to perform effective forward planning and demand forecasting.
Purpose of Role:
Plans, organises, directs, controls, administers and supervises execution of the Materials Requirement Planning System, contributing to the timely delivery of materials whilst maintaining optimum inventory investment.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. 1. Manage and review daily materials requirement plans and ensure that the procurement documents generated are supportive of:
Lead time usages and abnormal demand
Economies of scale
Total cost of ownership
Accurate specification
2. Maintain analytical determination methods for stock levels, derived from usage histories, criticality and predictability
Qualifications and Experience Required:
• Graduate calibre with experience in lead time management and demand predictability. (Supply Chain graduate is preferable)
• 3-4 years' experience in a Brewery or FMCG manufacturing environment in an active planning and/or forecasting role
• Sound technical knowledge of equipment and related spare parts
• Proficient in the use of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Good understanding of the fundamental principles of Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and its application in a manufacturing industry.
