The Management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has approved the appointments of Prof. Etukudo Maisie Henrietta and Prof. Akpagu Zana Itiunbe as Deputy Vice Chancellors.

The new DVCs whose appointment is with immediate effect takes over from their predecessors; Prof. Austin Obiekezie (DVC Academic) and Prof. Bassey Igri Okon (DVC Administration) who just finished their term in office.

Prof. Zana, until his appointment was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and he is being tipped as one of the strongest contenders for the position of the Vice Chancellor after the expiration of Professor Epoke′s administration while Professor Etukudo was with the Department of Medical Laboratory Science.
