Title: #News: These Groups Have Pledged Allegiance To ISIS (MAP)
Post by: HuffingtonPost on Mar 11, 2015, 11:31 PM
Nigeria's Boko Haram became the latest extremist organization to swear allegiance (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/07/boko-haram-isis_n_6823414.html) to the Islamic State group and its elusive leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. In an audio message released on Saturday, the head of Boko Haram, Abu Bakr Shekau, offered the Nigerians' support and said the militants will "hear and obey in times of difficulty and prosperity."

Al-Baghdadi called (http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2014/06/isil-declares-new-islamic-caliphate-201462917326669749.html) on jihadi fighters across the world to follow his lead in June of last year, when he declared himself head of a "caliphate" amid the group's military successes in Iraq and Syria. Since then, dozens of groups in Africa, Asia and the Middle East have sworn allegiance.

The IntelCenter (http://intelcenter.com), a private contractor providing counterterrorism intelligence support to the military, intelligence and law enforcement communities, built an excellent interactive map detailing the different groups across the world that have pledged support to al-Baghdadi.

You can find a full list (http://intelcenter.com/maps/is-affiliates-map.html) of the groups included in the map as well as more charts on IntelCenter's website (http://intelcenter.com/).
