Last week, the Chairman of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Mr. Sam Amadi, announced a 17.6 per cent increase in the electricity tariff from N8.50 to N10.00 per kilowatt hour, in compliance with the 2008/2013 regime of the Multi Year Tariff Order (MYTO). According to Mr. Amadi, the new increase takes effect from July 1, 2011.
