The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, has predicted that the Post-UTME screening exercise organized by higher institutions in Nigeria with soon stop following the introduction of the Computer Based Test (CBT).
.
Ojerinde said the reason for this is that the Computer Based mode of UTME had helped to completely eradicate examination malpractice.
.
Many universities and polytechnics introduced post-JAMB tests for applicants before they are offered admission, irrespective of whether they passed the JAMB examination, which has attracted its fair share of criticism as it was described as a means of extorting money from applicants.
.
Prof. Ojerinde said that the screening tests will die naturally as there is no way parents or candidates will be able to cheat during the UTME.
.
According to the registrar, the CBT system is a way of preparing candidates ahead of the challenge in universities where they would be extensively drilled.
