Title: FUT Minna Signs Mou With Housing Professionals Association

The Federal University of Technology, Minna has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with African Housing Professionals Association of Nigeria (AHPAN) to facilitate and promote the science and art of housing in Nigeria.

Speaking at the ceremony, which took place on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Council Chamber, Main Campus, the President/CEO of AHPAN, Mr. Adekunle Babayemi said the partnership is aimed at professionalizing the housing industry in Nigeria through the centre of excellence of housing resource that would be established in FUT, Minna to run short courses and Master's degree programmes in housing.

Mr. Babayemi noted that the centre would provide professional training in policy development as it relate to the housing industry in Nigeria, design, materials, engineering as well as technology, adding that FUT, Minna is the flagship of the project in Nigeria.

The President/CEO revealed that AHPAN would use its vast experience in the housing sector development in United Kingdom to access funds for the Centre from African Development Bank, DFID in England while stating that the Centre would get all its partners in Ghana, Uganda, South Africa and Kenya to work on collaborative research on the housing sector.
