Title: Unilorin VC Commissions Plant Tissue Culture Lab

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin  (UNILORIN), Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, has commissioned the newly established Unilorin Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory, capable of producing half a million plants a year.

At the commissioning, which took place last Thursday (May 21, 2015),

Prof. Ambali said that the completion of the laboratory marks another giant step in the history of the University. He then dedicated the project to the use of man and the glory of God.

The laboratory, which is located in the Wing D of the Unilorin Central Research Laboratory, is a testament to the University's strides in the area of Bio-technology. The technical support for the University is being provided by CGBIBT Uka Tarsadia University, India.

In his remarks on the occasion, the Principal Researcher in charge of the laboratory, Prof. Dr. R. Kaishnamulthy, said that the laboratory is small but a giant step in plant tissue research in the University.
