Finland's Finance Minister, Jutta Urpilainen, says that next week may bring a decision on whether the eurozone countries will require collateral guarantees from Greece as part of a new bailout deal -- a step that Finland has demanded.
The issue will be discussed at an emergency meeting of eurozone leaders on Thursday. The summit is to decide on how banks and investors will be included in handling this crisis, she said.
Urpilainen, who addressed an economic seminar in her hometown of Kokkola on Saturday, said that the results of stress tests carried out on 90 European banks last week were better than expected. One Finnish bank was included.
"I hope that these test will play its own role in creating stability on the markets, because the test increases openness, transparency and awareness of the banks' actual conditions," the finance minister told YLE.
