OVERVIEW OF ROLE: – All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices. – All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities: – Responsible for assisting the Master in the operation of the vessel to the standards laid down by Company Policy, Contractor's requirements and International Regulations and to ensure that the vessel is operated with due regard for the preservation of all life and the environment. – Ensure that when he/she has control of the vessel, it is safely navigated and operated in accordance with the Master's Standing Orders and Company Policy with due regard to the drilling operations. – When on duty at the DP desk he is in charge of DP operations in accordance with the Masters instructions, manages the D.P. system in conformity with normal rules of operation, applying all the relevant procedures according to his experience and seamanship. – Ensure weather forecasts are available and conduct proper interpretations in order to take actions to minimize any risk to the Rig Operations. – Document and implement the established planned preventative maintenance and repair procedures for the vessel's hull, superstructure, and all associated equipment. Ensure personnel are aware and fully understand these procedures and scheduled as written. Communicate any discrepancies or problems to the Master. – Verify, maintain, update and documentation of the safe working procedures for the Deck department. Ensure personnel are aware of and fully understand these procedures. Inform department heads of any changes in these procedures. – Ensure that all the Deck crew are aware of all their job related hazards. – Monitor and document Deck department personnel's progress. Request and organize training as necessary. – Responsible for the daily computation of the vessels stability, trim and stress and reports status to the Master. – Verify that all orders and instructions have been complied with, and that specific tasks have been properly carried out and inspected, upon completion. – Ensure orders are issued in a clear and concise manner and understood. – Ensure a smooth transition during Deck Department crew change. Keep written hand-over notes to ensure efficient and accurate transfer of information. – Supervise all loading/unloading and transfer of personnel, stores and equipment. – Ensure that all load-bearing equipment and pressure vessels, under his/her control, are maintained, inspected, tested, certified and recorded based on Statuary Regulations and Class requirements. – Have a thorough knowledge of the vessel's Radio communication systems. – Assist the master to Monitor and control compliance with international and local regulations to ensure safety of life at sea, security and the protection of the marine environment. – Be able to assume the responsibilities of the Master in the event that the Master becomes incapacitated.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: – Additional licences from a professional body are desirable. – Affiliation/member with nationally recognized professional body; if applicable – Degree/Qualification in related course or other equivalent experience, plus minimum of 10years relevant working experience in Oil & Gas (Construction, Engineering, Offshore sectors etc.) or relevant sectors – Pro-active and positive  to changes and challenges – Pro-active and open in communication with all interfacing parties. – Demonstrate a good level of initiative – Team oriented and performance driven – Upholds core values and reputation both internally and externally: Safety, Integrity, Innovation, Performance and Collaboration.
