Title: Minister’s directive to re-open underground car park raises security concerns

 The directive issued by the Minister of Aviation, Mrs Stella Ada Oduah-Ogiemwonyi, to immediately reopen the underground car park, which is located under the terminal building of Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos, has begun to generate security and safety concerns in the industry.

Airport security should be a paramount issue in the country. If re-opening the underground car park would pose a security risk to travelers and their luggage (citizens and foreigners) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos, then, it shouldn't be open.

A problem known is half-solved. If a challenge is identified, the next line of action should be a look-out for solution. Once the underground has been developed, it should be functioning properly. FAAN should strategise on feasible security options to adopt in tackling the security concerns.
