Former scribe of the Nigerian Football Association, Alhaji Sani Ahmed Toro has thrown his weight behind the list made public by Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia as he advised him to approach the Ghanaian friendly with ease of mind.
The former House of Representatives member said the Ghanaians' air of superiority over the Super Eagles should be capitalized upon by the team by playing their own game.
"I want to associate myself with the decision of the NFF technical committee not to alter the list brought before them by coach Samson Siasia because he was given an assignment and needs to be given a free hand unless he messes up. At this point in time, we have to build confidence in him and what he is going to do.
"On the games itself, I will only advise the team to take it easy by playing their own game because if they are able to do that, they would be able to overcome the Ghanaians in London. I know the Ghanaians will be coming into the tie with the belief that they have an edge over us, we have to capitalize on their belief by playing our game," Toro advised.
He spared a though on the new Minister of Sports, Alhaji Suleiman saying that, "he is lucky to have technocrats working under him. He has a Director-General who played football and also was once a principal and a director of the National Institute of Sports before he became the Director-General.
"He should take his time to learn from those under him that knows the terrain before plunging in properly. I know he will succeed. Nigerians too need to support him massively; it's too early to say that he is not in sport so hopes are minimal. We should know that he is an administrator who can head any organization. Let us give him a benefit of the doubt," said.
On the recall of West Brom striker, Osaze Odemwingie, the Bauchi State sports administrator said, "it is a good development. Initially people criticized Siasia on the issue but I firmly said no because he is the coach and has to instill discipline in the team. I am happy that Osaze himself has realized that he is not indispensable to Nigeria and has also apologized, so Siasia's decision is in the right direction," Toro added.
