Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, says the FIFA guideline for the qualifying round of the 2014 World Cup will not give Africa the opportunity to be represented by its best teams.

The draw for the 2014 finals was conducted on Saturday in Brazil with Africa having the usual five slots for 52 teams while Europe has 13 slots for 53 teams. But Oliseh said on his website that the situation would not help produce the best teams from Africa.

He wrote, "Not only do the African Nations have two rounds of qualifiers to play, but the Final round sees the Best 10 nations having to fight it out in five pairings in a home and away series, with five nations then emerging for the 2014 World Cup.

"In contrast to the other zones this is a difficult development in my opinion because not only will Africa have possible chaos like was experienced in the last campaign between Algeria and Egypt, we definitely will have one or two great African nations eliminated even if they are at their best or near it.

"We could get a 2nd Round pairing of Ghana versus Nigeria for example meaning one of the two nations will not qualify. After what Ghana exhibited at the 2010 World Cup and judging from the (followership) and flair Nigeria bring to the World Cup, can you imagine one of them not being in Brazil come 2014?

"It is clear that if we take Europe for example, 13 nations will qualify from 53 and the format they have this year almost guarantees the best from Europe being in Brazil come 2014."
