About fifty demonstrators were arrested near the Olkiluoto nuclear power plant in Eurajoki today. Police said those arrested would be fined for disobedience of police.
The protesters, the Olkiluoto Blockade, are made up of various civic organizations working against nuclear power.
Demonstrators blocked the road to the nuclear power plant site early this morning.
Police and Rescue Department have since removed the barriers.
Protest organizers say they want the nuclear plant shut down, and want a future without nuclear power.
