POSITION: Specialist, Regional Finance
Reports to: Manager, Regional Finance Operations.
WORK BASE AREA: Lagos.
CORE PURPOSE:
To account for all regional financial operations activities (cash operations, fixed assets, stock/inventory), support the various regional departments on financial issues and maintain commercial relationships with external stakeholders at the head office.
Principal Functions (Major Areas of Responsibility):
· Supervise Head office petty cash operations and ensure safety of the cash.
· Ensure availability of fund for regional cash operations.
· Prepare regional monthly petty cash flow projections and utilization.
· Vet duty travel requests and other petty cash expenses.
· Prepare and give approved Cash Payment slip to staff for approved expenses or advances.
· Follow up with staff on unretired advances to ensure prompt retirement of cash advances.
· Reconcile physical cash to the books and process reimbursements of petty cash floats.
· Pick up of petty cash float reimbursements from the bank.
· Conduct regular, weekly and monthly cash counts on emergency float.
· Assist in establishing internal controls.
· Ensure compliance of petty cash disbursement and reimbursement policy and procedure.
· Prepare monthly petty cash analysis report and cash count certificate for month-end accounts closing.
· Educate regional staff on finance related policies and ensure compliance.
· Ensure daily booking of petty cash transaction on the ERP.
Requirements:
· A first degree in any discipline, but a finance and management related degree is desirable.
· A recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) will be an added advantage.
· Minimum of 4 years post NYSC experience in core accounting function. A demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office products.
