Craig Bellamy has told friends he would jump at the chance to return to Liverpool.
Liverpool have made a cheeky bid to re-sign Bellamy from Manchester City - but only if they can have him for nothing.
The Reds do not want to pay a transfer fee and want City to either loan him out or pay him off.
City are mulling this over and feel Bellamy still has some value in the transfer market because he has two years left on his £95,000-a-week contract.
