Still reeling from crushing defeat in the last April general election, leading opposition parties in the country are reportedly considering the idea of a fusion to wrest power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015.
The opposition parties involved in the emerging deals and talks include the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP).
Nigerian Tribune findings showed that some leaders across the three parties had exchanged ideas about the resumption of a fusion talk ahead of 2015, to give enough time for negotiation.
The opposition leaders were said to have regretted the failure of the alliance talks before the April polls and had, therefore, resolved to give the idea a serious consideration, especially if the PDP was to be defeated in 2015.
Not a bad idea but the earlier the better. They should reach conclusion in time and start their strategies.
