AN era – of controversy, intrigues and hard tackles – ended yesterday at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Chairman Maurice Iwu got the boot.
Acting President Goodluck Jonathan directed Prof. Iwu to proceed on a pre-terminal leave. His tenure ends on June 13.
Iwu, who fought a big battle for reappointment, is to hand over to the most senior National Commissioner, pending the appointment of a substantive chairman.
The directive is with immediate effect.
