Veteran coach, Joe Erico, has expressed worry over the Super Eagles'defence following yesterday's 1-3 loss to Argentina in a friendly.

The former Super Eagles assisstant coach speaking with Tribune sports in Lagos, noted that the game had exposed one of the team's weaknesses.

"As far as I'm concerned, it was a good match for the team but it has shown that we have to work more on our defence. Our defence must improve. It must be one man against one man and not five men running after one man like we saw in the game against Lionel Messi.

"We have to commend the players having won in Madagascar before this game and playing against Argentina was a good match for us. I'm not disturbed by the scoreline," he explained.

It gave some of our fringe players the opportunity to have a better hope and it would help them on how well to comport themselves at the big stage," said the former handler of Julius Berger FC.

Erico stated that he was equally impressed with the performance of goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba despite conceding three goals.

"Dele was okay, he made a lot of saves that would have made the scoreline worse and it's an indication that he has come of age in goalkeeping," said Erico.
