An energetic, hardworking, reliable and intelligent individual to serve as a Procurement Officer.
Position Summary:
• The focus of the position is to develop and implement purchasing policy and strategy, to co-ordinate purchasing practices and to maximize savings and benefits available to the company from purchasing activities.
• Responsibilities shall include but is not limited to the acquisition of products and services, stock evaluation and control, material flow reports, market evaluation, negotiating with vendors for purchase orders, development of bidders list, potential supplier evaluation and competitiveness assessment.
Essential requirements for the role:
• At least 5 years relevant experience
• HND/BSc in Purchasing and Supply, Economics, Business Administration or Agricultural Extension.
• A Postgraduate degree in the same field, or MBA and membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.
• Candidate must be conversant with and experienced in strategic sourcing and vendor management.
• Knowledge of the relevant laws and regulatory policies regarding different products and standards.
• Strong and proven negotiation skills.
