Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Manager
Location: Nigeria
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND/OR TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
• Knowledge in main shutdowns and control tools
• Knowledge of cement production process
• 5 years or more of experience in plant maintenance as Mechanical Head, or more than 7 years as mechanical Supervisor.
• Adequate Knowledge related to equipment function & maintenance (Crusher, Stacker, Reclaimer, Raw mill, Belt Conveyors & Aux. Equipments). knowledge of Cement manufacturing process
• Gear knowledge, transmission, welding techniques, lubrication and non-destructive testing.
• Overhauling, Precision tools measurement, Vibration measurement, Pneumatics and hydraulics system, theory and application.
• Bearing and Electrics motors types, theory and application
• Using the FMEA methodology for detailed analysis
• Spare parts stock optimization
BEHAVIOURAL AND/OR MANAGERIAL COMPETENCIES
• Good communication skills (both oral and written): report in a clear and concise way, even in emergency situations. Communicate effectively with all levels of the plant organization.
• Leadership capabilities: able to convince and to influence a group.
• Motivate his/her personnel, coach and develop team members by giving feedback on the work done. Assess his/her team; propose training plans to ensure the team's development.
• By being meticulous and by following procedures.
• Effective meetings
• Ease of decision making
• Knowledge of problem solving tools
• Understanding of Finance, economics and business
• Using Reports and KPI's to manage area of responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITY/MAIN ACTIVITIES
• Develop and standardize repair methods or operations
• Estimates equipment downtime for carrying out a maint. operation and define the necessary resources (number and competency)
• Undertake emergency repairs or corrective actions
• Challenge, improve and update existing job-plans for major operations to be done in the year
• Establish a mechanical diagnosis (Bearing deterioration, poor gear assembly, kiln adjustment / alignment, motor alignment)
• Control quality (reception) and prepare start-up of new equipment
• Evaluate workload (resources and time) of a daily / weekly maintenance activity
• Supervision of subcontracted work
• Do some incidents analysis using Root Cause method.
• Integrate safety into all the maintenance operations.
