Upstream Systems is looking to recruit an Account Director to cover the Nigerian operator market. The Account Director reports to the VP Sales located in London. This newly created role is responsible for managing all customer relationships at executive and operational level across Nigeria. Other neighboring countries may be added depending on level of customer opportunities and available capacity.

Descriptions:
•   The key purpose is to develop and execute on the account plan by defining all key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans required to achieve all the key objectives (financial, operational and customer satisfaction).
•   The Account Director acts as the main interface for all communications, coordinating issues and functioning as the main escalation point between Upstream and the customer.

Key Accountabilities:
•    Responsible for the Nigerian region (initially) and dedicated accounts.
•       Deliver the target financial performance from the accounts and region (Revenue, EBITDA).
•       Manage the complete P&L, business and marketing plans for the region.
•       Ensure completion of all project related activities.
•       Ultimate aim to develop the Nigerian region into one of the key regions in Africa for Upstream over the next two to three years.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
•       At least 7 years' direct sales experience (preferably within the VAS or Telecommunications sector).
•       Understanding of business & proven track record of managing major operators within Africa.
•       Strong 'C' level contacts within Nigeria.
•       Ability to map out mobile operator's organisation structure and political power base.
•       Organised and structured thinking for planning and execution purposes.
•       Leadership and gravitas to effectively conduct business activities.
•       Salesmanship and effective communications.
•       Time management (ability to work alone and develop own daily/weekly agenda).

Personal Characteristics:
•       A self-starter with strict attention to detail.
•       Drive, self-confidence and resourcefulness.
•       Vision, positive attitude and ability to think outside of the box.
•       Lateral thinker.
•       Analytically minded and able to engage with and utilise others to deliver targets.
