A 28-year-old man, simply identified as Lise, was on Saturday arrested in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, with a human head.
Lise, Sunday Tribune gathered, was arrested around Nembe Waterside, Old Town axis of the city, in the morning and was promptly taken to the nearby Borokiri Police station, where he was detained to be investigated.
Efforts by Sunday Tribune to speak with the man were unsuccessful as police personnel on duty did not allow access to him.
But a policeman on duty, who spoke to Sunday Tribune under conditions of anonymity confirmed the arrest, adding "We will ensure thorough investigations and charge the suspect to court, if he is found culpable."
When reached for official confirmation, the spokesman of the Rivers State police command, Ben Ugwuegbulam, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said Lise was arrested with a human head.
He, however, said the command would brief the media on the matter after a thorough investigation must have been carried out on it.
