Arsene Wenger has "issues" to address at Arsenal, according to his boss.
But the under-pressure Gunners manager has been given full backing by chief executive Ivan Gazidis, despite the club's worst start to a league campaign for 58 years.
Later on Tuesday, Arsenal beat League Two side Shrewsbury 3-1 to reach the last 16 of the Carling Cup, but only after going a goal behind and in front of just 46,539 - their lowest ever crowd at the Emirates.
However, Gazidis also insisted that Wenger has no intention of quitting, that the Frenchman will turn the club's fortunes around this season and that the Gunners will continue with their policy of "focusing on young players" rather than making big-name signings.
"There is absolutely no issue about Arsene leaving the club or the club pushing him out," said Gazidis. "We just have some issues we need to address.
