AGAINST the backdrop of incessant strife and insecurity in the country, the founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) Dr. Frederick Fasehun, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to give the country the kind of leadership it requires under the current situation.
Fasehun, who made this call on Thursday in Lagos, said since President Jonathan had been in government at various levels, it is expected that money should not be a major inducement to him anymore.
"President Jonathan should be very careful. He has the opportunity of having his name written in gold in the history of the country, but if he wants to leave his name in the thrash can of history, he may continue going the way of his predecessors in office.
Fasehun said if the president had good advisers he would not have taken the decision to abandon the Eagle Square for the relative comfort of Aso Rock during the nation's 51st Independence anniversary. "The president should provide leadership the country needs. He should take the bull by the horns", Fasehun said while adding that the president should put into process programmes aimed at re-ordering the country's priorities.
