Title: Osun Speaker Congratulates Deputy As New Advocate

Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly Honourable Najeem Salaam has felicitated with his deputy, Honourable Akintunde Adegboye, representing Osogbo State Constituency over his success at the Law school, where he has just been called to the bar, as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court.

In a statement issued by the Speaker's spokesman, Mr. Goke Butika, the Speaker said Akintunde has proved to the world that age and public service could not pose barriers for anyone who wants to acquire more knowledge.

Salaam then charged the younger generation to emulate Akintunde, who has acquired fleet of degrees, saying that the way and manner the lawmaker passed through the education terrain, where he got training in Engineering, journalism and law was inspiring.

Stressing on the need to transfer the residual knowledge of different disciplines acquired to the development of the society, the Speaker charged the newly-commissioned attorney to apply his knowledge of law into the social engineering of his constituency, saying that people of Osogbo State Constituency should be made to benefit from his wealth of knowledge.

The head of Osun State parliament further stated that the Assembly, under his watch will continue to encourage the rest of the lawmakers in the state, to pursue educational training that will enhance their productivity without sharking their responsibilities as lawmakers, noting that society cannot progress where illiteracy thrives.

Saluting his deputy, the Speaker disclosed that Akintunde's achievement as a lawyer should have a reflective value in his assignment as a lawmaker, noting that the state House of Assembly will continue to rely on his applied knowledge on the new drive of the assembly, to make lives of the citizens of Osun State better, just like other lawyers in the parliament.

Salam added that Akintunde's call to bar was a result of his commitment, determination, hardwork, which should be emulated by the public office holders.

He therefore urged Akintunde not to relent by rising up to the challenges of combining his double professional status with legislative assignment, saying it is just the beginning of his triumph.
