The roles of the Community Development Associations (CDA) in improving the lives of people in the different communities in Osun State has received a pass mark. This good deed was recorded in the area of judicious management of the affairs of the association without the intervention of the state and local governments.
The community development associations received this pass mark during the disbursement of N3million grant-in-aid held at the Secretariat of Boripe Local Government Council Area of Osun State in Iragbiji recently.
Representing the Special Adviser to the state government on Rural and Community Development, Honourable Kunle Ige, Mrs. Oladele enjoined the CDA to support the government in the administration of government policies at the community level.
Mrs. Oladele revealed that in the past years, the efforts of the different CDA have brought smiles to the faces of members of the communities with an improvement in their living standards.
She expressed satisfaction with the zeal the members of the CDA displayed in the execution of self-help projects in the council area. "We are happy that the people had endeavoured to provide funds to help themselves even before the government intervention", she stated.
Mrs. Oladele encouraged the different CDA to judiciously use the N3 Million and be law abiding, so as to avoid vices which was capable of leading to breakdown of law and order.
On his own, the caretaker committee chairman of Boripe Local Government Council Area of Osun State, Honourable Kehinde Hassan Moronkeji, maintained that the activities of the different CDA were collaborating with his administration's aim to bring about the successful implementation of the six-point integral action plan of Mr. Rauf Aregbesola.
Honourable Kehinde explained that the conditions for the disbursement of the aid grants were based on the condition attached by the ministry.
"There was joint inspection carried out by the Department of Community Development, representatives of Ministry of Local Government and Community Development Council", he stated.
The council helmsman enjoined beneficiaries of the government's aid to utilise the funds for the expected projects. He however, warned against the diversion of funds intended for public projects that would benefit the lives of community members, adding that the era of such was gone forever in the council area.
"If these funds are judiciously expended", he stated, "the government of the day at the state and local council, would be happy to do more for others on the waiting list of this kind of programme.
The council boss restated his administration's determination to embark on more developmental projects that would aid purposeful governance.
Honourable Kehinde also promised the local and state government's continued execution of people-oriented programmes and projects that would better the lives of the citizens.

Chief Okediya appealed to the council boss to tackle erosion problem being faced by the people of Isale Asa, in Iree Town.
Chief Okediya, urged the council boss, to use the ecological funds for the repair and maintenance of places, which were affected by floods and erosion.
He promised that the association would commit a significant percentage of the grant in the building work of the community development civic centre at Iragbiji.
