Salem University, a private university located in Lokoja, Kogi State, is currently recruiting for academic and non-academic positions in the university. NON – ACADEMIC POSITIONS

1. INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

DIRECTOR ICT:

The Director Information and Communication Technology (ICT) shall be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the planning and maintenance of the University ICT infrastructures. Candidates should possess a good honours degree or HND in computer science with formal training systems analysis and computer programming plus a higher degree in computer science with 15 years administrative experience. There must be evidence of registration with relevant professional bodies.

Salary Range SUNASS 15 (N4, 047,462 – N5, 305,720) p.a

2. WORKS, SERVICES AND PHYSICAL PLANNING.

DIRECTOR OF WORKS, SERVICES AND PHYSICAL PLANNING:

The Director of works, Services and Planning shall be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the planning, maintenance and rehabilitation of physical facilities and grounds of the University. Candidates should possess a good honours degree in Civil/Structural Engineering registrable with COREN with at least Fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience or Professional Masters Degree in Architecture registrable with at least fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience. Evidence of registration with the relevant professional bodies will be added advantage.

Salary Range: SUNASS 15 (N4, 047,462 – N5, 305,720) p.a

3. UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN

The University Librarian shall be the head of the University Library. He/She shall be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the development of the University library system including the main library, College and Departmental Libraries.

Qualification and experiences Candidate should possess a good honours degree and a post graduate qualification in library science or related discipline preferable doctorate . in addition, the candidate should have at least 15 years post graduate experience, 10 years of which should be in Senior Management position of the University, similar institutuion of higher learning or comparable establishments. The candidate must be well published in recognized and reputable journals. This is a post of professional ranking.

Salary Range:  SUNASS 07 (N4,580,349-N6,020,163) p.a.

4. LEGAL OFFICER: Senior Assistant Registrar (Legal)

The Legal Officer is the legal adviser to the University among others. He/She must possess a good honours degree in law, NOT below second class with robust experience (a minimum of six (6) years post qualification experience) in contract, administrative and company law. A higher degree will be an advantage and must be a current member of Nigerian Bar Association. Salary Range: SUNASS 11 (N1,823,167-N2,578,127)

5. PUBLIC RELATION OFFICER (PRO 1/Senior/Principal PRO)

Candidates should possess a good honours degree, NOT below second class upper from a recognized University and a minimum of six (6) years relevant post-qualification experience.

Salary Range:
SUNASS 09 (N1,449,363-N2,109,627) p.a.
SUNASS 11 (N1,823,167-N2,578,127) p.a.
SUNASS 13 (N2,723,069-N3,632,404) p.a.

SELECTION CRITERIA AND METHODS OF APPLICATION

Candidates are required to submit applications demonstrating key criteria: that they possess strong leadership and management skills (i.e. with examples of how they research, teach or work strategically to achieve results, form professional relationships to get the job done, and communicate effectively with work colleagues and external stakeholders).
