Summary of Job Description:
• The Drivers will be full-time members of the project team based in the project offices in Bauchi and Sokoto.
• S/he will be responsible for driving and maintaining the project vehicles, providing transportation to the project staff traveling on project-related business, and maintaining the log of vehicle use. S/he will report to the Administration Assistant.
Functions/Key Results Expected:
1. Driving, maintaining, and servicing the project vehicles in keeping with the highest safety standards;
2. Ensuring proper long-term and day-to-day maintenance of all vehicles, including checking oil and other fluids, battery, brakes, tires, and other critical equipments;
3. Performing pick-ups, deliveries, repairs and makes purchases of office supplies as directed by supervisor;
4. Keeping log of vehicle use, maintenance, and service;
5. In coordination with the project staff, making all necessary arrangements and reservations for meeting and field trips for project staff;
6. Greeting and directing visitors;
7. Arranging for the collection and delivery of mail or documents, as directed;
8. Other administrative support duties as necessary.
Skill Set:
• Valid driver's license and excellent driving record;
• A secondary certificate.
• Excellent communication skills in local languages; good English and hausa writing skills an asset
• Computer literate an added advantage
• Basic skills and qualification in motor mechanics an asset
• Proven punctuality and ability to work as part of a team and excellent references a must.
Experience:
• At least five years of experience working as a driver, three of which must be with an international project will be an added advantage.
• Work experience: 2-3years
