Job Title: Chief Sales and Marketing Officer (CSMO)
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Job and Candidate Profile: The CSMOCO shall be responsible for driving the acquisition of the Company's customers, its revenue goals and the general direction and management of all sales and marketing activities, including market competitiveness, product definition/pricing and distribution/diversity strategies. Specifically, the CSMO shall be responsible for managing the overall sales process and setting appropriate metrics for sales funnel management.
Summary Job Descriptions:
• Drive the development and implementation of the Company's global sales strategies
• Develop, establish, and execute marketing strategies and programs
• Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company's customer base
• Manage overall sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management
• Develop pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions, for high-profile customers
• Develop qualified leads and generate new business in line with the Company's commercial target
• Generate marketing campaigns and events to generate new prospective leads
• Engage and interact with decision makers at a C-level to identify new and emerging business opportunities
• Build effective relationships with potential clients and existing customers
Product Development
• Identify and qualify opportunities for new business, products and services
• Manage the development and deployment of the Company's new products and services
• Drive corporate positioning market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning
• Oversee product management including market and customer research for market and product requirements, interface with the technical team for product development, product pricing and product lifecycle management
• Oversee product marketing including product launch management, sales training, presentations, sales tools, competitive analysis and general sales support
Marketing
• Speak positively and enthusiastically about the Company and its products and services to ensure that a professional company and brand image is provided at all times to customers and colleagues
• Ensure the maintenance of updated records in the CRM system in accordance with data protection requirements
• Provide sales support and / or assistance to other team members on product solutions
• Maintain a good level of understanding and knowledge of the Company's products and services, ensuring that customer queries can be captured and dealt with accurately and appropriately
• Listen to and support colleagues and team members with professional problems, devoting time to impart expertise, infusing confidence and expressing positive expectations regarding the team's and company's performance
• Define and manage the appropriate marketing organization for the Company
• Oversee marketing communications including branding, public relations, advertising, white papers, trade shows, seminars and events collateral materials, analyst and market research management, and website design and content either directly or on an outsourced basis
• Define and direct marketing programs for demand creation, lead generation and interface for lead tracking and management
• Develop and manage the Company's entire marketing budget
• Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities
• Act as spokesperson for the company with press and analysts and at industry events
Customer Service
• Ensure professional and effective service delivery s to internal and / or external customers, to meet customer expectations, particularly in terms of Quality and Timeliness in line with departmental standards, procedures and guidelines
• Deploy processes and team to communicate with internal and / or external customers by telephone, email and face-to-face, building positive relationships, investigating, responding to and progressing issues and queries to a successful conclusion at the earliest time
The responsibilities defined above span across the business in Nigeria, Ghana and International markets.
Qualifications & Competencies
• Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline
• Post graduate/relevant professional qualification will be an advantage
• At least fifteen (15) years' work experience in telecoms or related industry, with at least ten (10) years at senior management role in Sales, Marketing or Product leadership with P&L responsibility across business units or products
• Experience in selling bandwidth capacity, Internet services products or telecommunications products
• Established contacts and relationships with potential customers on the executive level and good sector and local industry knowledge
• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with strong negotiation experience
• Good project management skills
• Proven sales track record in a competitive environment
• Customer focused business leadership style in order to develop new innovative solutions that meet the customer and market demands
• Good attention to detail and ability to manage complex contract terms and service variables
• Self-motivated and able to take ownership of the sales team and processes to meet set objectives
• Ability to see the totality of the business in its competitive context and realistically identify, translate and prioritize the strategic decisions
• Ability to work effectively with other team units in coordinated operations to drive revenue targets, optimized sales productivity, penetration goals, deployment objectives and customer satisfaction
• Ability to shape and develop the market facing activities of the Company and the people within in response to current and emerging business needs and strategy
• Clear understanding of the financial dynamics of the B2B telecoms services business
