A 30-year-old man, Mathew Adekunle, has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate's Court for alleged stealing.
According to the charge sheet made available to OSUN DEFENDER, the accused person was said to have conspired with others now at-large, to steal a vehicle.
It further stated that the accused and others now at-large stole a Toyota Sienna car with the registration number Lagos XT 941 LND valued N1,300,000, property of one Enjoh Abraham.
The alleged offences were said to have been committed on October 14, 2011, at Oke-Abesu area, Osogbo, the Osun State, capital.
The charge sheet also stated that the alleged offences were contrary to Section 516 and punishable under Section 390 of the criminal code cap 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.
Defence Counsel, Olayinka Sokoya, then applied for the bail of the accused person in the most liberal terms, after the accused had pleaded not guilty, saying that the accused would not jump bail and would provide reliable sureties should bail be granted.
The bail application was not objected by the police prosecutor, Inspector Olayinka Ponle.
Presiding magistrate, Mr. Olusola Aluko, then granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100,000 and two sureties in the like sum, adding that the sureties must provide two passport-sized photographs, tax clearance and must also be resident within the jurisdiction of the court.
He subsequently adjourned the matter till December 16, 2011 for mention.
