Title: Lagos State University 2010/2011 Screening Exercise for UTME & DE Announced

1. APPLICATION

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the Lagos State University (LASU) 2010/2011 Post UTME Screening Exercise, for both candidates seeking admission via UTME (100 level) and Direct entry (200 level). These screening exercise is mandatory requirement for entry into Lagos State University.

2. ELIGIBILITY

i. Only candidates who have chosen Lagos State University as their first choice and /or second choice of institution, in the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board examination and have scored a minimum of 200 marks in the April 2010 UTME are eligible.
ii. All direct entry candidates who wish to be considered for admission into Lagos State University for 2010/2011 academic session are also eligible to apply.
iii. Successful candidate from LASU Foundation programme are excluded from the exercise. However, they must obtain 2010/2011 Direct Entry form from JAMB.
iv. Candidates of Lagos state origin will be required to prove their claims before Independent Indigeneship

3. METHOD OF APPLICATION

Applicants are required to pay into LASU Account Number(s), a non-refundable fee of N1,000 (one thousand naira) ONLY to SELECTED branches of the following banks.

Applicants should note that they MUST collect LASU Post UTME VOUCHER from their respective bank(s) on payment of the Screening Exercise fees. It's ONLY with this voucher that candidates will have access to the online registration portal.

Date of Examination: Monday 2nd August, 2010 to Saturday 7th August, 2010
Venue: Lagos State University, Main Campus, Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Ojo.

4. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

Candidates are expected to register for the SCREENING EXERCISE online. The form is available on the LASU website 'www.lasunigeria.org'. Access to the registration portal is through LASU Post UTME/DE voucher. Candidates are advised to CAREFULLY STUDY THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COURSES THEY INTEND TO APPLY FOR, AS CONTAINED IN JAMB BROCHURE FOR 2010/2011, BEFORE REGISTERING. For emphasis, candidates are advised to carefully study the requirements for the courses they intend to apply for, failure to do so will lead to automatic disqualification. False information provided by any candidate shall be detected by the special LASU software application designed for such purpose. Such defaulting candidates shall likewise be disqualified by this same software application, as the computer will NOT accept their applications.

5. HOW TO REGISTER ONLINE

STEP-BY-STEP APPROACH:
i. Visit LASU website: www.lasunigeria.org (http://www.lasunigeria.org)
ii. Point to 'Registration tab'; then 'Prospective Students', then click on 'Post UTME Screening'.
iii. Click on the appropriate link "Direct Entry Screening Registration" or "Regular Post UTME Screening Registration" on the left column to register.
iv. Candidates will be required to upload a scanned copy of their passport-sized photograph (File Size: Not more than 20KB; File format: JPEG [i.e. '.jpg']). Application for the change of passport photograph by the candidates given provisional admission shall not be allowed. This same passport photograph, uploaded by such candidates, will be used on their degree certificates. Candidates with blurred or without passport photograph on their LASU Post UTME Registration Slip shall not be allowed to participate in the Screening Exercise.
v. ONLY ONE CHOICE OF COURSE OF STUDY IS ALLOWED.
vi. Candidates must carefully study the agreement form. If you agree to the stated terms, click on 'I agree' check box. Enter your ACCESS CODE and SERIAL NUMBER from the LASU Post UTME VOUCHER, and then click on 'submit'. Note: If you did not agree to the stated terms you will not be permitted to go beyond this point. Please read and understand the terms before registering. Fill in all required details contained in steps 1, 2 & 3 of the on-line registration form. Confirm THAT DETAILS ARE ACCURATE then click FINISH. To make CHANGES to a STEP before you click finish, you may click on the button for that step.
vii. Candidates must fill in ALL their O'Level subjects and respective grades at one or two sittings. Candidates should also note that application for the change of O' level subject(s) and/or grade(s) shall not be entertained.
viii. Candidates awaiting the results of NABTEB, WAEC (May/June) and NECO (June/July) 2010 ONLY are eligible to apply. Note that any examination taken after July 2010 shall not be entertained.

6. HOW TO PRINT CANDIDATE REGISTRATION SLIP

STEP-BY-STEP APPROACH:
The candidate must have completed the online registration exercise before proceeding to print the registration slip.
• Visit LASU website: www.lasunigeria.org (http://www.lasunigeria.org)
• Point to 'Registration tab'; then 'Prospective Students', and then click on 'Post UTME Screening'.
• At the left panel of the displayed page, enter your UTME Registration Number,
Access Code and Serial Number; then click on 'login' button.
• Click on 'Print Registration' form and you will obtain a pre-filled copy of LASU Post UTME/DE Identification Slip with your passport photograph, name, O' Level results, and other details (see specimen below).

WARNING!! Each LASU Post UTME VOUCHER can be used for a maximum of fifteen (15) times, after which a candidate must purchase another voucher, for the same price.

d. Gender (Male/Female)
e. Date of Birth

All candidates (UTME and D.E) should note that application for correction
of bio-data, academic and personal details, after satisfactory submission of
such details via the online registration, SHALL NOT be entertained.

SCREENING EXERCISE DETAILS

Applicants are advised to come with their print-outs (Identification Slip) from the online registration as well as their HB pencil, eraser, and pencil sharpener. The use of electronic calculators, cell phones (GSM, CDMA, etc.), and other electronic devices, are NOT ALLOWED into the screening halls. Candidates without Identification Slip will not be allowed to participate in the LASU Post UTME/DE Screening Exercise.
