Post by: DT on Nov 28, 2011, 05:02 AM
The Nigerian Labour Congress has threatened to shut down the Kano headquarters of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria on Monday if the chief executive Alhaji Muhammad Balogun did not withdraw a letter of query written to the leader of the Union of Electricity Workers comrade Saminu Hassan.

A letter signed by the chairman of the chapter comrade Isa Yunusa Danguguwa stated that the labour body wants the management of the Kano distribution company to withdraw the query served on the electricity workers union's scribe until Friday failure of which could lead to the closure of the headquarters of the company by Friday.

The union leaders told the PHCN management that they have no reason to act upon the union leader for championing the cause of his association and urged them to give in writing the immediate withdrawal of the query written to him.

On Tuesday the Union of Electricity Employees barricaded the entrance of the headquarters of the PHCN in Kano demanding that the query be retrieved.
