FIFA World Cup Awards
In every World Cup, the following awards are given to the best in the categories itemized:
• adidas Golden Ball
• adidas Golden Boots
• Budweiser Man of the Match
• adidas Golden Glove
• Hyundai Best Young Player Award
• FIFA Fair Play Award
Lets see who and who deserve the awards!
adidas Golden Ball awards:
The adidas Golden Ball will go to the competition's best player. FIFA will announce a shortlist on 9 July. Thereafter, members of the media can vote for the winner until the end of the Final through the FIFA Media Channel.
Budweiser Man of the Match:
The Budweiser Man of the Match awards will go to the best player from each of the 64 contests at South Africa 2010. They will be decided by FIFA.com users, who can vote from halftime until the final whistle of each match.
adidas Golden Glove:
The adidas Golden Glove will go to the tournament's best goalkeeper, as decided by the FIFA Technical Study Group. Michel Preud'homme, Fabien Barthez, Oliver Kahn and Gianluigi Buffon are its previous winners
adidas Golden Boot:
The adidas Golden Boot will go to South Africa 2010's top scorer. If two or more players are tied on goals, the one who made the most assists will win. If assists can't split them, the one who played the least minutes will emerge with the prize
Hyundai Best Young Player Award:
The Hyundai Best Young Player Award will go to the tournament's most impressive player born on or after 1 January 1989. It will be decided by the FIFA Technical Study Group.
FIFA Fair Play Award:
The FIFA Fair Play Award will go to the team with the tournament's best disciplinary record. Only those that reach the knockout phase are eligible. Brazil and Spain shared the trophy in 2006.

Winner: Diego FORLAN
Diego Forlan has been named Best Player at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The Uruguay striker topped the prestigious poll of accredited media representatives ahead of the Netherlands' Wesley Sneijder and Spain hitman David Villa. adidas Golden Boots
Winner: Thomas MUELLER
Thomas Muller's opening goal for Germany against Uruguay in the third-place play-off proved enough to earn the Bayern Munich starlet the adidas Golden Boot. Muller finished on five goals at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, but claimed the top scorer accolade thanks to no fewer than three assists, leaving him ahead of Spain marksman David Villa and Dutch hitman Wesley Sneijder, both of whom finished on five goals but with only one assist apiece. Winner: Iker CASILLAS
The Spain keeper has conceded just two goals at South Africa 2010.
