The Campaign Organisation of the Kogi State Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) governorship candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu, has said anyone whose name is in the unemployment register will be given a job if the party wins the December 3, election.
It said the register was opened for a record of all qualified jobless persons in the state.
Hundreds have already put down their names in the book placed at the ACN campaign office in Lokoja.
Director-General of Audu's Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Abdullahi 'Halims' Ibrahim, said the ACN government would provide jobs for 25,000 persons who had registered.
His words: "Even the people who have been retrenched by the present government are being directed to come with their first letter of employment.
"I know for sure that they didn't terminate their appointments properly. They just threw them out of work without any concern.
"But for people who are not yet employed, we want to get about 25,000 of them registered so that immediately we take over government by the grace of God, those people will be immediately employed."
Ibrahim said Audu would have no problem beating his opponents as his ability to govern had been proved, adding that the masses had alligned with him.
On fears expressed by the ACN National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, about likely security challenges ahead of and during the December 3 election, Ibrahim said the people would not be cowed.
"We have cried out to the Federal Government, the Inspector-General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, and other security agencies about the impending plan of the PDP to rig using security forces.
"I believe the security authorities will take action. But our people are not afraid. They cannot kill all of us. Kogi State cannot die in the hands of a few cronies. They have actually turned Kogi politics into a kind of dynasty for themselves".
The campaign spokesman said Audu would coast home to victory with or without alliance with any of the other opposition candidates.
The candidates of the four main parties – PDP, ACN, All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) and Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) hail from Kogi East.
