(II) Qualifications
(a) Professor (CONUASS 7)
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree from a recognised University with at least ten (10) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership. Candidates must also be specialists in core areas of departmental fields of study with evidence of scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.
(b) Associate Professor (CONUASS 6)
Qualifications are as stated for Professor but with at least eight (8) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. Candidates must have evidence of scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.
(c) Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 5)
Qualifications are same as (b) above but with at least six (6) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. Candidates must have evidence of eight (8) scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.
(d) Lecturer 1 (CONUASS 4)
Candidates should possess a Ph.D from a recognised University with at least three (3) years post‐Doctoral teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. They must also have evidence of six (6) journal articles in both local and international learned reputable journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.
(e) Lecturer 11 (CONUASS 3)
Candidates should possess the same qualifications as (d) above with three (3) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. They must also have evidence of three (3) publications in local and international reputable learned journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.
(f) Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 2)
Candidates should possess an M.Sc or M.A. degree in a relevant field plus clear evidence of registration for a Ph.D programme from recognised Universities. Membership of a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
(g) Graduate Assistant (CONUASS 1)
Candidate should possess a first Degree, with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division in a relevant field from a recognised University.
