The recent summary sack of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mrs. Farida Waziri, took many members of the pubic by surprise. President Goodluck Jonathan gave no reasons for the decision, but simply announced through a statement by his spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, that Mrs. Waziri's removal was to take immediate effect.
