Context/Scope:
Market Complexity
•         An increasing challenging external environment is placing higher importance on robust controls and compliance programs:
o    US Law – Bribery and corruption is severely penalised
o    Increased regulation in Nigeria and a need to robustly manage our regulatory and statutory compliance obligations
o    British Law – following US  stance on penalties
o    Implication of non compliance on Corporate reputation can be catastrophic
o    Recession and resulting in financial pressures increase risk to fraud / bribery
•         Our focus is to step change on "embedding in the fabric" and to become a role model for acting with integrity, ethics and responsibility.

Leadership Responsibilities:
An inspiring leader in the business -
•         Key member of the GN/DBN Compliance team
•         Assist in embedding the Compliance & Ethics agenda with functional stakeholders and cross functional teams

Purpose of Role:
•   The main purpose would be to run the compliance monitoring plan and continuously improve on the existing programme with new methodologies and tests as appropriate.
•   To ensure that the company complies with all its regulatory requirements by regular monitoring of all business areas.
•   Support the Compliance and Ethics Manager and to respond to general compliance / regulatory /risk queries.
•   Ensuring compliance with Anti-money Laundering policy and regulation/statutory requirements

Top 3-5 Accountabilities:
•   Framework development, gathering compliance data and information
•   Support the Compliance & Ethics Manager in the review of regulations applicable to the Nigerian business.
•   Assist in monitoring compliance with local regulations and statutes
•   Data management & analysis to ensure appropriate records are kept of all compliance obligations e.g. gift and entertainment, applicable licenses, permits,
•   Work with the CR team to ensure regulatory changes are monitored and impact on the Nigeria business is assessed and affected policies and procedures etc are amended accordingly

Qualifications and Experience Required:
•   Ideally a degree in Economics, Law, Business, or Finance
•   7 Years post-qualification experience
•   Experience in  Data Analysis, Research & Risk management would be an advantage
•   Experience in policy governance & compliance
•   Strong knowledge of internal controls is an added advantage
•   Interpersonal relationship building skills
•   Ability to prioritise when faced with conflicting demands.
•   Proven ability to manage projects and facilitate business change
