Title: One killed, two injured in S/Kaduna village attack

The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a woman in a fresh attack by gunmen on Kukum Daji village in Kaura Local Government Area of the state yesterday morning.

Spokesman of the command Aminu Lawan, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, said, "a woman was killed in the attack while two other persons who sustained injuries are being treated  in a hospital.  The area commander and the Divisional Police Officer are already at the scene. Investigations have commenced." The Agwom Kagoro, Malam Ufuwai Bonet who also confirmed the incident, described it as unfortunate, urging the government and the security agencies to secure lives and property of the people."

A resident of the area, Mr. Jerry Auta, said that one woman was killed, while four persons who were injured were being treated at the Jos University Teaching Hospitals (JUTH).

"The attackers invaded the village at about 1 am today (yesterday) and attacked Musa Bilak, a 62-year-old man, and killed his wife Kuman Bilak who is 53 years old. His neigbour, Monday Yayok, a 30-year-old man, and two other people were wounded. I was sleeping when I heard gunshots in my neighbour's house. His wife died instantly. When our youths attempted to pursue the attackers, soldiers came and blocked the road", he said.

The Kukum Daji's attack is said to be the seventh experienced in the southern part of Kaduan State after the post-election violence.
