The Position Reporting to the Managing Director, this position will be responsible for formulating and implementing sound financial policies, strategies and systems.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Management of the financial function and maintenance of the bank\'s books of account and implementation.
• Formulating the organization\'s financial strategy and ensuring it is properly implemented.
• Formulating, implementing and maintaining sound financial and administrative policies, procedures and systems to sustain the organization.
• Review analysis of budgets, costs and operations and status of ongoing programmes to determine progress and act on deviations.
• Cash planning to ensure availability of funds to implement planned activities.
• Ensure observance of internal controls-ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with legal and fiscal regulations.
The Person:
For the above position, the successful applicant should have:-
• A master\'s degree in Finance or Accounting, or similar qualifications with at least 5 years of senior management experience in a bank or retail financial institution. OR. A first Degree (BSC/HND) from a recognised Institution in, accounting, finance or similar qualifications with at least 7 years\' experience in a bank or retail financial institution.
• Professional membership of ICAN (ACA) or ACCA is a MUST
• 6 years\' experience in financial control
• Possession of an MBA in relevant field will have an added advantage.
• Experience in Banking Operations, or in a compliance environment with an appreciation of risk management processes and environment. Knowledge of bank-wide business functions including Operations, Credit (evaluation & administration), ole as well as knowledge of Micro Finance products and services.
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements, 8aselll business line classification and general banking procedures.
