About the Organization:
• Advans is a network of MFIs in developing and emerging countries (Cameroon, Ghana, DRC, Cambodia, Tanzania, Cote de Ivoire) offering financial services to MSMEs. Horus created Advans with several major international development finance institutions (EIB, KfW, FMO, AFD, IFC, CDC).
• The Advans network presently comprises six financial institutions and the objective is to create ten additional microfinance institutions over the next five years in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
• Advans provides these MFIs with financial resources whilst Horus provides them with technical assistance services.
About the Job:
• Advans is seeking a Deputy Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Advans Nigeria based in Ibadan.
• In accordance with Horus' mandate, and with the COO's support, the Deputy COO of Advans Nigeria will participate in commercials teams' recruitment and training.
• Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer and with the support of Horus' head-office, the Deputy COO will assist the COO in below mentioned tasks and responsibilities.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Commercial operations of Advans Nigeria;
• Organization of market studies, the definition and implementation of new financial products;
• Supervision of the branch network's expansion in the country;
• Setting up of the required organization, policies and processes in order to achieve the operational objectives defined in the Business Plan;
• Achievement of the business plan.
Qualifications:
• Degree in management/accounting/finance;
• Fluency in English, reading and understanding French is appreciated;
• At least 3 years' experience, including an experience in an operational job within a financial institution or a development program;
• Experience in microfinance, especially in credit methodology;
• Rigorous, analytical, with management and organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal, coaching, and conflict management skills.
