Job Description:
2 fantastic opportunities have arisen with an EMC Velocity partner that is close to becoming a Signature partner. The company is looking for a storage engineer with solid experience with several EMC products including:
• EMC Clariion
• EMC V-Max
• EMC DMX
• EMC VNX
• EMC Celerra
• EMC Centerra
• EMC Networker
• EMC Replication Manager
• EMC RecoverPoint
• EMC Data Domain
Successful candidates will need to work as Senior EMC Engineers with the project manager and/or Services manager as part of the implementation team to conduct user requirements analysis and design, and implementation. Thus assisting to eliminate risks and increase the likelihood of project success through the provision of advice and guidance during project planning, project risk assessment and during the project implementation cycle.
Successful candidates will be responsible for but NOT limited to the following:
• Implementation, Administration and Management of EMC SAN Infrastructure
• Storage provisioning on high end storage sub systems EMC V-Max and DMX
• Configuring zoning policies in SAN environment
• Managing storage allocations for ALL UNIX platforms, Linux and Windows servers
• Masking of LUNs and Implementing Host groups and Security Policies
• Good Knowledge in Storage procedures and documentation
• Administration of SAN Fabric switches Cisco
• Expert skills in EMC ECC, EMC SMC, AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, Linux, Windows
• Installation and Configuration EMC XP MPIO and other Multi-pathing software
• Installation and Configuration of PowerPath RAID Manager Software and HORCM Configuration
• Implementation and setting of BCV and redundancy
• Configuring BCV Pairing and Re syncing devices
• Defining backup devices for backup operation
• Act as a subject matter expert in the design, implementation and support of EMC storage and
• VMware Virtualization technologies
• Be the go-to Solutions Engineer providing solutions EMC architectures from inception to delivery.
Desired Skills & Experience:
• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science IT or equivalent.
• 5 – 7 years of experience in EMC Enterprise Storage Implementation and Administration
• 5 – 7 years of experience in Fabric Switches
• 2 – 3 years of experience in UNIX environment prior to that
• UNIX Shell scripting is must
• In depth working knowledge of EMC products (CLARiiON, CELERRA, Symmetrix, etc.)
• In depth working knowledge of VMware products is a plus
• In depth understanding of enterprise datacenter technologies including networking, security, NAS, physical datacenter practices
• Strong experience with IP-based and Fiber networking for SAN/NAS technologies
• Experience with Cisco UCS a big plus.
• Any relevant certifications are a plus: EMCIE, EMCTA, VCP, VCDX
